BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) is a 4-membered girl group from YG Entertainment in South Korea. The members are Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé. The meaning of BLACKPINK is bit of a twist for the color pink, which is usually thought to be a pretty color. The message conveys that ‘Being pretty is not enough’ so, the team name suggests that they have both a pretty appearance and talent as an artist. The concept of the new girl group will be YG’s signature “girl crush”. The members have trained for 4-6 years before making their official debut with their digital single album ‘SQUARE ONE’ released on August 8th, 2016. BLACKPINK made their official first stage performance on August 14th, 2016 on SBS Inkigayo.
